How Long Does Eyebrow Tint Last?
It is the question every client asks as they sit up and look in the mirror: how long will this last? With brow tint the answer has two parts, because a tint fades in two stages, and knowing which stage you are looking at changes everything about when to rebook.

The short answer
Eyebrow tint typically lasts 4 to 6 weeks on the brow hairs themselves. The stain a tint leaves on the skin beneath fades much sooner, usually within 1 to 2 weeks. A hybrid tint, which is formulated to colour both skin and hair, holds its skin stain for up to 7 weeks, which is why it has become the tint most of our clients choose.
Why tint fades the way it does
Three things are happening at once. The pigment on each hair softens gradually with washing, sunlight and the natural oils on your skin. Your brow hairs are also constantly renewing themselves, so freshly grown, untinted hairs appear at the roots over the weeks. And the skin under your brows renews itself fastest of all, which is why the skin stain, the part that makes brows look fullest on day one, is always the first thing to go.
This is also why a tint can feel like it vanished overnight around the two week mark. It did not. The skin stain finished fading, and what remains is the tinted hair, which still has weeks left in it.
Classic tint versus hybrid tint
A classic tint colours the brow hairs only. The definition it gives lives entirely in the hair, deepening the colour and making fine hairs visible. Expect 4 to 6 weeks on the hairs, with only a brief skin stain.
A hybrid tint is designed to stain the skin as well as the hair, creating a soft shadow beneath the brow that reads like gentle makeup. The skin stain lasts up to 7 weeks, noticeably longer than a classic tint, and the effect is a softer, hair-stroke finish rather than a flat block of colour. At En Beauty the hybrid tint is paired with a precise shape, so the colour sits inside a frame that was measured for your face rather than guessed.
How to make your tint last longer
Keep brows dry for the first 24 hours. The pigment is still settling, and water, steam and sweat in that window shorten the life of the whole tint.
Keep oils away from your brows. Oil-based cleansers, balms and rich creams are the single biggest tint shortener. Cleanse around the brows, not through them.
Be gentle. Scrubs, exfoliating acids and retinoids used over the brow area speed up skin renewal, which takes the skin stain with it.
Mind the sun and the pool. UV softens pigment and chlorine strips it. A hat on holiday does more for your tint than any serum.

What fading actually looks like
Week one and two, the skin stain quietly departs and brows look a little less done, though the hair colour is still holding. Week three and four, new growth starts to show lighter at the roots, most noticeably if your natural brow hair is fair. By week five or six the tint has softened across the board and the brows have drifted back towards their starting colour. Nothing goes wrong, it simply grows out, which is one of the reasons tinting remains the lowest commitment brow treatment there is.
When to rebook
Most of our clients rebook every 4 to 6 weeks, which catches the tint just as the colour softens and pairs naturally with a shape, since brow regrowth is on roughly the same schedule. If you run a hybrid tint and love the skin-stain effect, closer to 4 or 5 weeks keeps the shadow continuous. If you only want the hairs kept deep and defined, 6 weeks is comfortable.

A few quick answers
Does tinting damage brow hairs? Performed professionally with correct timing, no. The formulas we use are developed for the brow area and the processing time is matched to your hair. Damage usually enters the story through home kits left on too long or repeated too often.
Can I tint my own brows at home? Kits exist, and plenty of people try them. The honest trade-offs are tone and evenness: box shades often pull warm or go darker than the swatch, the skin stains unevenly if application is not precise, and sensitivities only announce themselves after the fact. A professional tint is custom-mixed to your skin tone and hair, takes fifteen minutes, and removes the guesswork.
Will a tint make my brows look thicker? It makes them look fuller by darkening the fine, pale hairs you cannot currently see, but it does not add hair or change the direction your brows grow. If what you are really after is volume and lift, that is brow lamination territory, and the two pair beautifully.
What is the difference between tinting and bleaching? Opposite directions on the same dial. Tinting deepens and defines your brow colour, bleaching lightens it to soften the face. Both live on our brow treatments menu.
When can I wear makeup again? From the next day. Just favour gentle, oil-free removal over the brow area so you are not dissolving your tint along with your mascara.
The short version
Four to six weeks on the hairs, one to two on the skin, up to seven if the tint is a hybrid. Keep oils and scrubs away from your brows and the colour repays you. And if the colour is right but the shape has never quite felt like yours, start with our eyebrow shapes guide, because colour always looks best inside the right frame.
